Considered a leader in his field, Dr. Anthony Sclar is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who has been in practice at the South Florida OMS since 1989. An innovator in the area of dental implants and cosmetic periodontal surgery, he thoroughly enjoys practicing all aspects of both general oral surgery and cosmetic & reconstructive oral and maxillofacial surgery.

A regularly featured speaker for the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Academy of Osseointegration, he lectures extensively both nationally and internationally on esthetic considerations, soft tissue management techniques, and applications of cosmetic periodontal surgery in dental implant therapy. Dr. Sclar is also the CO-director of the University of Michigan School of Dentistrys Implant Soft Tissue Management Course, conducted annually in Ann Arbor Michigan and director of the ISTM Implant Soft Tissue Management & Cosmetic Periodontal Surgery Conference , held in Key Biscayne, Florida in conjunction with Live Dental Implant Surgery Training Courses held at South Florida OMSs Center for Excellence in Dental Implant Surgery.
In addition to publishing numerous articles pertaining to esthetic implant therapy, Dr. Sclar is co-author of a surgical atlas entitled: Soft Tissue Esthetic Procedures for Teeth and Implants published by W.B. Saunders company and he is currently authoring a textbook focused solely on soft tissue management and applications of cosmetic periodontal surgery in dental implant therapy soon to be published by Quintessence publishing company.
An innovative Surgeon, Dr. Sclar developed the Bio-Col Technique: a procedure that prevents bone and gum tissue shrinkage following the removal of a tooth as well as The Interpositional Periosteal-Connective Tissue Flap: a new cosmetic periodontal technique for reconstructing gum tissue in areas that enhance a patients smile.
